How can DenUM be foundational to your walk with the poor?
Contact us about our Urban Education Activities!
You can…
Plan a daylong workshop at DenUM’s facility on Colfax.
Hear the stories of a formerly homeless speaker. Participate in a poverty simulation. Walk the route of the homeless downtown. We guarantee that you will never look at Colfax or Downtown Denver with the same eyes again.
Gather a large or small group to play DenUM’s Game of Life.
The DenUM Game of Life is a thought-provoking poverty simulation activity, appropriate for teen and adult groups. A per person fee of $5 (when played at DenUM) or $50 travel honorarium is appreciated.
Host a DenUM Hunger Banquet to benefit DenUM’s emergency services.
The Hunger Banquet is a simple supper fundraiser that increases awareness of hunger and inequality in Denver through local facts and testimony.
Take the Food Stamp Challenge.
Can you make it on a Food Stamp budget? Gather pledges to support your week-long or month-long efforts, and make a difference for real families living on the edge.
Take up a community donation.
A one-time or monthly cash donation from your congregation sustains DenUM’s life-giving services for the poor. Food, clothing, diapers or hygiene items are always needed and offer a concrete way to describe the needs of DenUM's clients.
