Tammy Mulligan, M.A. – Executive Director

Tammy came to DenUM in 2002 with twelve years of human service experience in Denver and Baltimore. Tammy currently serves on the Denver Welfare Reform Board. She is a Denver native and graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver with a degree in journalism. She has her Masters degree from Regis University.

Carolyne Schultz, M.S.W. – Community Relations Director

Carolyne hails from the great state of Iowa.  She also holds a degree in International Studies and Women’s Studies from the University of Iowa and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Michigan.  She joined DenUM’s staff in 2007 as an Urban Servant Corps volunteer and served as the Urban Education Manager before becoming the Community Relations Director. Carolyne serves on the Urban Servant Corps and Community Shares of Colorado board of directors.

Stephanie Beazley, B.S. – Program Director

Stephanie is originally from Illinois where she graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Social Work. She then founded a program for homeless and runaway youth in San Diego. In 2005, she moved to Denver to create a new program for formerly homeless families. Stephanie joined DenUM’s staff in 2010 with fifteen years of experience working with low-income families.

Jennifer Stone – Donations Manager

Jennifer joined the DenUM staff as the Donations Manager in 2006 after volunteering for almost two years. She is originally from Vermont and is the mother of two girls. Jennifer’s background includes extensive human services volunteer experience.

Meghan LaPorte, M.P.A. – Urban Education Manager

Meghan joined the DenUM team in April 2016. She is originally from Massachusetts where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Massachusetts in 2010. She moved to Colorado in 2012 to follow her passion for working with people experiencing homelessness. Meghan graduated in December 2015 from the University of Colorado, Denver with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

Shelby Andrews, M.C.J. – Case Manager

Shelby joined the DenUM team as a case manager in December 2016. She has lived in Colorado for 22 years. She earned a Bachelor’s Degrees in Criminology and Psychology from the University of Denver in 2012 and graduated in August 2015 from the University of Cincinnati with a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice.


Each year we welcome full-time volunteers, interns, and fellows through programs like the Emerson National Hunger FellowsUrban Servant Corps, Colorado Vincentian Volunteers, Episcopal Service Corps,  DwellUniversity of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, Iliff School of Theology and many others!
