Food For All 2005

It is with gratitude that DenUM is able to report on the success of Food For All, DenUM's annual Thanksgiving event. More than 16,000 pounds of food and nearly $5,000 in gift cards were gathered this year, thanks to your November contributions and those of more than 30 other neighborhoods, faith communities and friends.

Food For All boxes were packed on November 20 with the help of almost 500 youth and adult volunteers. These special food boxes were given to 425 individuals and families during the week of Thanksgiving. The boxes included non-perishable holiday foods, a gift card for the purchase of turkey or other main dishes, and fresh fruit.

Additionally, Food For All food donations will continue to supply emergency food bags until the end of 2005, serving approximately 800 additional families.

Holiday donations make an enormous difference for families and individuals who often feel they have little reason to be thankful at this time. DenUM gratefully acknowledges that you are the source of this great program!

 

Clean out the Garage!

Please consider making a year-end contribution to Denver Urban Ministries and other charities that you support. Many local charities have seen a dramatic decrease in giving following Hurricane Katrina – a sign of our community’s generosity to those in crisis! Unfortunately, we also know that friends and neighbors here in Denver face crisis situations daily. DenUM counts on your donations to meet this ongoing need.

One easy way to benefit DenUM is by donating a vehicle to Cars for Charity, Inc. in DenUM’s name. Cars for Charity accepts all vehicles (automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, boats and recreational vehicles), running or not, as long as they have a clear title. This is a great tax deduction for you, and DenUM will get 100% of the net proceeds when Cars for Charity sells the vehicle.
